Name match aligns the scientific names of a spreadsheet to the checklist of the vascular flora of Italy (FlorItaly).

How it works

Names are aligned to FlorItaly's checklist of the vascular flora of Italy.

This tool splits each name into genus, epithets, ranks and authors, then compares them part by part: typos, abbreviated genera, cf., s.l., auct. and other nomenclatural notes are recognised. Certain matches are accepted on their own; the others are left to review, with the candidates to choose from.

The file never leaves your computer: only the distinct names are sent to FlorItaly's server.
